Whistler Insider is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data necessary to provide real-time ski resort status and notifications.
Data we collect
Push notification tokens — When you enable alerts or Live Activity, your device token is sent to our server and stored for up to 90 days to deliver notifications. Tokens are automatically deleted when they expire or become invalid.
Cached resort data — The latest lift and zone status is cached locally on your device (via App Group storage) for offline access and widget display.
Location data
The app requests location permission solely to show your position on the trail map. Your location is processed on-device by the Mapbox Maps SDK to display the blue dot. Your location is never sent to our servers, stored, or tracked.
Third-party services
Mapbox Maps SDK — Used to display the interactive trail map. Mapbox receives map tile requests and may collect anonymized usage data (e.g., map loads, tile requests) as described in the Mapbox Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Mapbox telemetry in your device's Settings under Privacy.
Whistler Blackcomb / ArcGIS — Lift and zone status data is fetched from public resort data feeds. No personal data is sent to these services.
Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — Used to deliver alerts and Live Activity updates to your device.
